Hey ya, my name is Erin and I'm 16 years old. It has always been a dream of mine to try out for the Interzone Team, and I never would have thought I could make it in. But Mist my third border collie has made that dream possible.
It has taken a while to get to a point where we are a synced team. She is one of my fastest dogs to run, and I attempt to keep up, (which is not very successful on my part). Once we made it to the harder levels
things came to a standstill for a while, but then over the past two years Mist has been absolutely
amazing, she gained the titles Agility Champion a year ago, Jumpers Champion in August this year, and she has nearly achieved ADX Advanced Gold (one to go – Yeay!!!)
Mist and I, along with my parents and their dogs, have just moved to Zone Three about five months ago. I've spent 11 years competing in Zone One with Mist and my other dogs, with Mist gaining Agility Champion up there.
We belonged to the Mangawhai DTC for all that time. I started there as a very determined five year old with my first dog Trish. My inspiration to do agility came from watching Tux Wonder Dogs, and I told myself I'd do that one day ... Well here I am 11 years later with my girl Mist, representing Zone Three in the Intermediate Class. Absolutely a dream come true!!!
I just want to thank everyone who has helped me and Mist, by giving tips and support over the years. I never could have done this without you all.
This is going to be a great opportunity for us, Mist and I are going to give it everything we have got to make sure Zone Three takes that trophy home. To where it belongs!!!!
So Good Luck everyone, have fun, enjoy the moment, and go for it. You know what time it is!!!
(To the tune of "Business Time” by Flight of the Conchords)
Me and the Biz are going to training. You know how I know? Because it’s Thursday. And Thursday night is the night that Feilding has agility training. We have Mondays off because we have usually been to a show in the weekend, Tuesday and Wednesday we may do a bit, but Thursday we train, weekly training. It’s when everything is just right. There’s nothing good on TV. Biz has been in her kennel all day, I may be tired but, oh boy ... it’s all on. Biz launches into the van and barks. “I know what you're trying to say girl. You're trying to say, "Oh, yeah, it's business time. It's business time.”
