Hi, my name is Sandra and I'm 56 years of age. Willow is my second Border Collie and we have been competing together since November 2016. I never thought I would be able to do agility as I have two fused ankles and shouldn't be trying to run. Yet here I am, not only competing, but have made it into the Zone Three Agility Team for NZDAC. Willow didn't get to stay in Starters or Jumpers C for very long at all as when she got it right she would win. I'm still getting the hang of running her, and I find it very hard to get to the right place at the right time as she is so very fast. We may not always get it right, and I'm sure some of my runs look like a train wreck! But as long as my ankles hold up, I’m wearing my business socks, and I'm having fun with my dogs - I will keep going. After all that's what it's all about - isn't it? Willow is her name, And speed is her game. Flygility Grand Champ at the age of two, My little blue merle with her eyes so blue. I make a mistake and she leaves me for dead, I'm often left standing, shaking my head. Go up. Go through. Turn left. Turn right! With two fused ankles, I must look a sight. My mind is still willing, but the body says no, If only, if only, I could tell her - go slow! But I can't slow her down, and I never will, So I must suck it up and take another pill. Now in our Zone Team for the NZDAC, I needed to find the confidence I lacked. But with some extra time training - thanks to Kev and the girls, We’ll go out all guns blazing, and give it a whirl!
