                                   Zone 2
Chrissy Harris & Lace
Hi my name is Chrissy Harris and with my girl Lace, we are the Starters team for Zone 2. Our home club is Hawkes Bay Dog Training Club in Hastings. This is my first time in a Zone 2 team and my first time at DAC! I am really excited at being in the team and having a great time at the competition.
Lace is a 3 year old heading dog I have had her for 2
years. She came off a farm as she wasn’t making it
as a working dog. Coming to live in town was a huge
learning curve for her, she had been on the back of
a ute once (the trip home was interesting!) and of
course had never been inside a house. She is the
energizer bunny of my dogs, always on the go. She is
able to kangaroo jump up to eye level on the spot
repeatedly when the mood takes Her! Her favourite
things are food, agility, food, Cuddles, food, running fast, food.........you get the Picture! To keep her amused we also compete in Flygility, Rally-O and obedience.
Chelsea Marriner & Chrome
Chelsea has been in agility for about 19 years now, and has titled 4 Agility Champions, 5 Agility Grand Champions, 1 Jumpers Champion and 6 Jumpers Grand Champions, in between riding bikes and stalking utes. She keeps saying she's going to quit, and may well do after at least 67 runs over the next 4 days. If she doesn't turn up to DAC, there is normally a motocross extravaganza at Taupo on the same weekend......
Chrome is a 3 year old working collie, being an odd tone of merle and sired by 'Shift', her colour is termed as 'shifty shades of grey'. She was going to be Chelsea's sheepdog, and was not to be contaminated by agility. That soon changed when Chelsea got bored doing one thing, as usual, and Chrome was thrown in the agility ring fairly green and unprepared, but always up for a good time! She is an utter nutter and her favourite pastimes include riding on the back of the quad and doing backflips off it, anything to do with water (lakes, rivers, bike washing), and of course working sheep. Her absolute favourite is holeshot corner at motocross - the gates drop and the boys get on the gas, and Chrome can barely contain herself!
She has been an interesting challenge to train and work for agility, and she keeps me on my toes. Her name Fool's Gold is after one of the grade 5 mountain bike trails in the Whaka Forest, and she also loves tagging along when I go for a pedal.
